there are so many ways to approach astrology.. it is just like music in this regard... the opportunity to express creatively and in different directions is great... right now i am reading a book by noel tyl called 'vocations' which works at defining a process called 'the midheaven extension process' or mep where an astrologer can arrive at an understanding of what a persons likely or most suited vocation, profession, or career might be.. i'm having some difficulty with his approach, but think it's beneficial to be challenged by another persons different approach... the idea i have for doing astro profiles on people, (famous or not) is to see if i'm capable of articulating something useful to others thru the use of astrology.. an interest in astrology is helpful, but i want to rise above any tendency to get bogged down in astro-lingo whereby i lose those who know nothing about the discipline.. it's the same situation with music if you've ever found yourself sitting in on a conversation musicians are having... discussing harmony and theory is all fine and good, but unless you're familiar with the language, you can't partake of the conversation in any real way and it is basically all over your head and of no use... the fact is many people listen to music without knowing anything about the technical aspects to it.. it could be argued the more one knows the technical details, the less involved and deeply moved they are by it.. the same is true for astrology here.. of what use is it to know the technical details around astrology if it isn't something you are interested in? far better for an astrologer to tell you what they see without the telling being weighed down with astro-lingo... with that in mind, i will begin these exercises fairly soon.. the website is still undergoing some shifts required to put it in the place where brian and i envision it to be in, so stay tuned..
